Dog Excercise in Alaska

Admin · September 27, 2020 · Leave a Comment

We have had 30 mph wind gusts today (up to 60 mph last night) which made for an interesting dog walking experience on the Spit. While some of us walk and run our canine friends on trails, others take it to a new level – Alaska style.

August can be a rainy month in Alaska but this year it was September. We go to the Spit every day to run our dogs and it has been raining the majority of this month. Oddly enough, we have not had one rainy day with the dogs on the Spit. The weather blows over it in short order. The fronts can be locked in over downtown Homer and up on the ridge above town (where we live) while the Spit is dry and clear. One of the many reasons why folks love the Spit.

Be well & green dreams!
