Join us as we start a homestead and explore vegetable production.

We have 2 acres in Homer, Alaska. We originally were going to pursue full time vegetable production but changed our minds after Covid. That could change down the road but for now we are working on our homestead and will be growing vegetables for ourselves and charity.

We will chronicle our ups and downs in our blog, Latest Green Musings, which can be accessed below.

Unfortunately, Alaska imports 95% of its food. This food comes by airplane, barge, and truck from the lower 48, Mexico, Europe, and Asia. Lots of time and mileage until it ends up on a plate. We are big believers in the local food movement and are exploring ways to get involved.
